Laparoscopic adjustable gastric band is a purely restrictive bariatric surgery that is not free of complications. Intragastric band erosion is a possible late major complication, which treatment involves removal of the band by surgery or endoscopy. Successful endoscopic removal has been reported in 80-100% of the cases. Although there are devices specially designed for this procedure (such as special cutters), endoscopic extraction of eroded gastric bands using conventional devices has been described. We report the video of a partially migrated gastric band successfully retrieved by endoscopy using conventional endoscopic devices.
