Circumferential ESD of a squamous cell carcinoma with no strictures in the follow-up Francisco Baldaque-Silva; João Pedro Pereira; José Soares Unidade Local de Saúde de Matosinhos A 73 years-old male patient was referred to our clinic due to the presence of a squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Lugol chromoendoscopy revealed the presence of a 6 cm long Paris IIa-b, circumferential SCC in the middle esophagus with "tatami-no-me" sign, without ulcers or other endoscopic signs of deep invasion. The PET-CT was negative for metastasis. Endoscopic submucosal dissection was performed and a 7.5cm circumferential specimen was resected. The patient was discharged at day 3 without complications. Pathology revealed R0 resection of a SCC with superficial muscularis mucosae invasion (T1a). There were no strictures at the 12months follow-up.
