A 55-year-old woman followed due to long-standing dyspeptic complaints. H. pylori eradication in 2010, under omeprazole 20mg. In 2010 was sent to endoscopic resection of two lesions in the anterior and posterior wall of the proximal gastric body (Paris 0-Is), with 50 and 15 mm, respectively. Biopsies showed fundic mucosa with oxyntic glands ectasia. In the rest of the mucosa showed diffuse gastric atrophy, according to the endoscopic appearance. These areas kept their morphology during the surveillance period. This case illustrates that what appears to be pathological, especially in an atrophic background, may not actually be.
