Sofia Xavier, Rui Magalhães, Tiago Cúrdia Gonçalves, Bruno Rosa, José Cotter
Hospital da Senhora da Oliveira, Guimarães
A 73 years-old male patient with a history of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis presented to the emergency room (ER) with complaints of aqueous diarrhea in the last two weeks. During diagnostic work-up in the ER, patient performed an abdominal computed tomography scan that suggested feeding tube was misplaced in the transverse colon. After confirming of gastrocolic fistula’s closure by upper endoscopy, patient performed a colonoscopy that confirmed the location of the feeding tube, which was removed and colocutaneous fistula was endoscopically closed with two clips. No further treatment was needed, and the patient evolved favourably.
